Walking Under The Thames (For Free)


Built in 1902, the Greenwich Foot Tunnel lets you walk 370 metres under the River Thames from Island Gardens to Greenwich — for free, because Victorians were clearly fearless. We tried it for the first time a couple of years ago, entered from the Island Gardens side, and let’s just say… walking under a river is still mildly creepy, even 120 years later.
